Word Guess

A five-letter word, six attempts. Every guess comes back colour-coded: green means the letter is in the right place, yellow means it is in the word but somewhere else, grey means it is not in the word at all. The whole game is deduction — each guess should rule out as much as possible, not just chase a hunch. A new word every day, so it takes two minutes and you come back tomorrow.

How to play

Type a five-letter word and press Enter. Green letters are correct and in position, yellow are in the word but misplaced, grey are not in the word. You get six guesses. Start with a word rich in vowels.
